Assignment 30A - Final Reflection
What sticks out as the most formative experience?
- Personally, the most formative assignment I had to do was the first Bug List assignment in the very beginning. I thought that assignment would be easy, but it turned out to be pretty difficult. I was not use to thinking like that, and it made me think of all the things that annoy me and got me thinking of potential solutions that I would never have tried to think of before.
- I will remember selling bags of blueberries outside of Publix during breakfast hours for the extra credit assignment for years to come. I felt silly at first, but it got me out of my comfort zone and made me actually go through with an entrepreneurial venture, even in a small way.
- My most joyous experience was finding the growing your social capital assignment. I had fun contacting people and getting "expert" advice in different fields, especially with my family friend. We had good conversations about entrepreneurship.
What experience are you most proud of accomplishing?
- I am most proud of actually coming up with a feasible idea for a business with my Gym Checker app. I think that with real development and hard work it could turn into something that many people would use and benefit from.
Do you see yourself as an entrepreneur?
- I saw myself as an entrepreneur before I signed up for this course, but I definitely agree that I have moved closer to more of an entrepreneur mindset after doing all of these assignments. It gave me motivation to try other new projects as well that I had been thinking of for a while.
What do you recommend to students taking the course in the future?
- Get your work done ahead of time, especially during syllabus week when you have plenty of time. Try to work ahead if possible. Keep an open mind when doing these projects, and don't get frustrated when you can't think of something right away or if your idea doesn't look like it will pan out. The assignments are built to help you come up with a good idea and it will eventually come.

Hey Jacob,
ReplyDeleteI think you have done a great job not only on this assignment, but throughout the semester. I have had a great time reading your various posts and seeing your idea grow. It is funny how differently we answered most of the questions on the final reflection, yet you find a way to describe it in a way that makes me agree with your overall point. I wish you the best of luck in your futures classes and in your journey as in entrepreneur.
Hi Jacob,
ReplyDeleteI agree that the bugs list assignment was the best for getting you into the mindset of an entrepreneur. The bugs list assignment made me think differently and look for tings that can be improved. I will never think the same again. I will always be looking at how products can be improved and where needs can be better served.
Hi Jacob,
ReplyDeleteYour reflection on your experience in the course had a good deal of thought put in. I remembered hating the bug list because I found myself getting stuck at like 15 or so. I think that it’s good that you see yourself closer to be an entrepreneur than before. I can completely agree with doing the work beforehand, it can really pile up. Nice job
Hey Jacob,
ReplyDeleteI actually agree with you in the sense that I thought the bug list assignment was much more difficult than I had originally deemed it to be. When reflecting on it after completing it, I thought to myself how many little things I complain about over the course of the day, but how ironic it was that when I sat down to list them all, few seemed important enough to recall. I am very glad to read how proud and excited you are about coming up with your gym app idea, as I agree that it is also a very promising idea that can benefit many different people (after reading some of your assignments). I relate to you in that I am also proud, and a bit surprised, at my ability to come up with a profitable idea over the course of this class, and have enjoyed it greatly as a result.
