Assignment 15A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Report findings and Draw Conclusions:
Throughout my interviews, I learned a few key compliments could help me improve my product. My first interview was helpful in the fact that it made me realize that Southwest Recreation Center does already have a live camera of how crowded the gym is, but most people do not like to use it due to its poor quality and that it is difficult to access.

My second interview was insightful in regards to the business aspect of the app. I realized that the app could also be monetized by promoting gym related products such as protein shakes, diet guides, etc. I could get a percentage off of each sale based on if they purchased the product by being redirected from my application.

My third interview helped me understand the costs behind building an app. While a simple app can go viral on its own, a user friendly app with a marketing team behind it has a higher chance of being successful. With this, however, comes the cost of hiring an effective programmer and savvy marketing team. However, these could just be upgrades in the future if start up funds aren't very high.

After contemplating over these interviews, I feel I have a better understanding of what the app will need to do in order to be successful. You want to maximize monetization to generate cash flow for future improvements. All of the people I interviewed agreed that they would prefer an app versus the alternative of looking at the Southwest Recreation live cam. The main thing I will need to do is go through the gyms to make sure they are okay with this kind of data being public.

  1. Hey Jacob,

I would have to say that I agree with many of the people you interviewed. For one, I agree that an app would be much more effective than going on to their website and looking at their live cameras. Though those cameras were a good idea, they aren't going exactly as planned and I can imagine the app being much more useful. The monetization idea is a genius addition as well, and through promotion it can be very useful.
